The king at the time, Louis XIV, liked the look so much he adopted the tie into his own fashion oeuvre. Had the Italian brand Brunello Cucinelli existed at the time, we might hazard a guess as to what particular modern tie the royal would have chosen – this silk iteration would be our first choice.
